9. Install the gas tank (B, Figure 6). Route the fuel line
through the bulkhead.
10.Install the fuel tank hold-down (A, Figure 6) and
secure using two nylock nuts (E).
11.Install a new panel fastener (C, Figure 6) in the upper
dash through the fuel tank hold down (A).
12.Attach the fuel line to the fuel filter.
13.Secure the front of the dashboard (D, Figure 6) using
two capscrews (H) and clips (G).
14.Reattach the throttle cable to the engine. See the
engine manual for adjustment.
15.Install the steering wheel and re-index the steering
gear (see next section).
Steering Wheel Installation
1. Turn the front wheels straight.
2. Lubricate the steering shaft (D, Figure 7) with anti-
seize compound or lithium grease.
3. Mount the wheel (A) on the shaft and install the roll
pin (C) using a hammer and punch.
4. Re-index the steering shaft to the steering gear if
necessary (see STEERING GEAR ADJUSTMENT,
Section 4). The steering wheel should be straight
when the front wheels are straight and should not
have excessive backlash.
