Carrier & Transmission Installation -

MOUNT TRANSMISSION TO CARRIER
1. Attach the transmission to the carrier assembly using
one 5/16-18 x 3 capscrew (I, Figure 7), one 5/16-18 x
3-1/2 capscrew (N), and two 5/16-18 x 2-1/2 cap-
screws (O). The longer capscrew (N) is used as an
anchor point for the brake lever spring (E). Attach
the front of the transmission to the carrier using cap-
screw (P).
2. Attach the torsion bar anchors (G, Figure 7) to the
transmission using the 5/16-18 x 2-1/2 capscrews (H)
and nuts as shown.
3. Insert the torsion bar (J, Figure 7) through the
anchors (G).

SEPARATE THE CARRIER AND TRANSMISSION
15.Remove the shock absorber (B, Figure 7). Using a
small screwdriver flex the clips just enough to get
over the ridge in the studs (C).
16.Disconnect the brake return spring (E, Figure 7).
17.Disconnect the brake link (L, Figure 7) from the trans-
mission brake lever (F).
18.Remove the cotter pin, and disconnect the transmis-
sion release valve lever (D, Figure 7).
19.Remove the capscrews (H, Figure 7) and nuts secur-
ing the torsion bar anchors (G). Remove the torsion
bar (J).
20.Remove the capscrews (I, Figure 7) securing the
transmission to the carrier assembly (A).
