9 Drive Controls Service
Hydro-Gear 0500 / 0650 Models
Idler Assembly Removal & Installation
1. Release the parking brake and block the wheels.
2. Remove the parking brake return spring (E, Figure 9).
3. Remove the idler bracket spring (J).
4. Remove the drive belt from the rear idler pulley (K).
5. Note the position of the front idler belt guide (M) rela-
tive to the idler assembly (S).
6. Loosen the capscrew (O) and remove the belt from
the front idler pulley (Q).
7. Remove the capscrew (O) from the front idler
pulley (Q).
8. Remove the idler assembly (S) from the pivot.
9. Remove the carriage bolt (I) and nut (L) from the rear
idler (K), and remove the idler.
10.Inspect the idler bracket bushings (R). Replace if
necessary.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
