MOWER BELT REPLACEMENT
38” Mowers
1. Park the tractor on a level surface. Disengage the
PTO, turn off the engine and set the parking brake.
Remove the key.
2. Remove the mower deck from the tractor. See
MOWER REMOVAL & INSTALLATION, Section 6.
3. Note the position of the idler pulley belt guide (A,
Figure 15) and loosen the pulley capscrew.
4. Loosen the arbor belt guides (B, Figure 15).
5. Remove and replace the drive belt.
6. Tighten the belt guides (A and B, Figure 15).
7. Reinstall the mower deck on the tractor.
44” Mowers
1. Park the tractor on a level surface. Disengage the
PTO, turn off the engine and set the parking brake.
Remove the key.
2. Remove the mower deck from the tractor. See
MOWER REMOVAL & INSTALLATION, Section 6.
3. Remove both the left and right arbor belt covers.
4. Loosen the idler pulley capscrew (A, Figure 16).
5. Remove the old belt and install the new belt over the
pulleys as shown in Figure 16.
6. Tighten the idler pulley capscrew (A, Figure 16).
7. Reinstall both belt covers.
8. Reinstall the mower deck on the tractor.
