Context
BymeansoftheBITE(Built-InTestEquipment)functionality,youcaneasilydetermine
iftheSU90hardwareisoperational.Andmostimportant,youcanmakesurethatallthe
transceiverschannelsandthetransducerelementsarefunctional.Toopenthedifferent
pagesintheBITE(Built-InTestEquipment)dialogbox,usethelarge"buttons"onthe
lefthandside.Eachbuttonprovidesasmallcolourcodedindicator.
•Noindicator:StatusisOK.Noactionsarenecessary.
•Yellow:Thisisawarning.Acloserinvestigationisrecommended.
•Red:Thisisanalarm.Acloserinvestigationisrequired.
•Blue:AdevicemonitoredbytheBITEsystemisdisabled.
•Grey:Noinformationisavailable.
TheBITE(Built-InTestEquipment)dialogboxandfunctionalityisonlyprovidedfor
performancemonitoring.ThefunctionalityisnotrequiredfornormaluseoftheSU90.
TheBITEdialogboxdoesnotpermityoutochangeanyoperationalparameters.
Withthevesselinport,theenvironmentalconditionsarenotsatisfactory.Intheshallow
watersoftheport,noisefromothervessels,dockyardworkersormachinerywillcause
unreliabletestresults.Ifyoudothistestsinabusyharbour,orwithnoisesources
present,thesensitivereceiverswilldetectallthenoiseinthenearbywaters.Excessive
noiseorinterferencemaybemisinterpretedasphysicaldefects.
Note
IfyouareunabletodothistestduringtheHarbourAcceptanceTest,itmustberepeated
duringtheSeaAcceptanceTest.

thetransducer.
2Lowerthetransducertoitsbottomposition.
3Selectthedefaultsettings.
