Starting a seam
Place fabric under presser fool 112 inch (12
mm) from rear of fabricoAlign the right edge
with one of the seam guidelines on lhe throat
plate. Lower lhe presser fool.
Backsl ilch lo lhe edge of the fabric for
reinforcemenl by push ing in the reverse
button located in centre of lhe stitch lenglh
dial . Hold button in unlil
slilch ing reaches
edge of fabric o
Release push button for forward slitching.
Guiding and supporting
fabric
Mosl tabrics need only lo be gu ided in fronl
of
lhe presser fool. Some fabr ics , however,
require support while being sl
ilched .
• For tricot, and olher similar synthetic knils,
apply genlle
lens ion by hold ing lhe fabric
at
lhe fronl and back of presser fool as
you sew. Do not pull fabrico
• For elasticated tabric , stretch lace. and
knits wilh an unusual amount of elasticity,
hold lhe fabr ic firmly in front and
back of
lhe presser
fool to stretcn lhe seam as lhe
stitches are being placed.
Sewing in reverse
To nealen lhe end ot a searn, push in lhe
reverse button and
backst itch 3-4 stitches.
Raise needle and presser fool and remove
tabric by
drawing it to lhe back and left. Cut
thread on Ihread cutter on presser bar.

Comienzo de una

Coloque el tejido debajo dei prensalelas a
12 mm. dei fondo dei tejido. Alínee el borde

Manlenga el
bot ónpresionado hasla que las
punladas lIeguen ai fondo dei lejido. Suelle

botón para coser hac ia adelanle.
Guía y ayuda dei tejido
La mayor ía de los lejidos sólamenle nece-
silan ser dirigidos por delante dei prensa-
leias. GIros, sin embargo, precisan ayuda
mienlras se
cosen .
• Para coser tricol y otros lej idos similares
de
punto sint ét ico , apl ique una ligera
tensló n agarrándolo por delanle y por
detr ás dei prensatelas para manlenerlo
tenso rnientras cose. No lire d
ell ejido.
• Para tejidos elásticos. de
enca je exten -
sible y de punto . con una cantidad de
elastic
idad poco corn ún, apl ique una
lens ión más firme por delanle y por detrás
dei prensatelas, para estirar la costura
según se van aplicando las puntadas.
Costura reversible
Para reforzar el final de una costura. pres ione
el bolón de coslura reversible y de 3-4
puntadas
hac ia atrás.
Eleve la aguja y el prensatelas y quite el tejido
tirando de este hacia atrás y a la izquierda.
