0.22 mm² (2 x 2 x 24 AWG)
☐ Maximum cable length between 2 nodes when using patch cables: 50m (164ft)
☐ Maximum cable length between 2 nodes when using installation cables: 100m (328ft)
☐ UV-resistant for outdoor use.
6.1.6 Requirements for the PV modules per input
☐ All PV modules should be of the same type.
☐ All PV modules should be aligned and tilted identically.
☐ The maximum permitted system voltages of the inverter must not be exceeded.
☐ The maximum short-circuit current must not be exceeded.
☐ The positive connection cables of the PV modules must be equipped with positive DC
connectors.
☐ The negative connection cables of the PV modules must be equipped with the negative DC
connectors.
6.1.7 Requirements on the equipment grounding conductor of
the PV modules
☐ The conductors must be made of solid wire, stranded wire or fine stranded wire. When using
fine stranded wire, bootlace ferrules must be used.
☐ Conductor type: aluminum and copper wire
☐ Conductor cross section: 2.5mm² to 25mm² (14AWG to 4AWG)
6.1.8 DC cable requirements
☐ Conductor cross-section: 3.31mm² to 5.26mm² (12AWG to 10AWG)
☐ Conductor type: copper wire
☐ Maximum permissible temperature: 90°C (194°F)
☐ The conductors with regards to its ampacity, rated temperatures, operating conditions and its
power loss must be made in accordance with the local standards and the National Electrical
Code
®
ANSI/NFPA 70 or the Canadian Electrical Code
®
CSA C22.1.
6.1.9 Signal cable requirements
The cable length and quality affect the quality of the signal. Observe the following cable
requirements:
☐ Conductor cross-section: 0.5mm² to 0.75mm² (21AWG to 19AWG)
☐ External diameter: Max. 8mm (0.3in)
☐ Maximum cable length: 100m (328ft)
☐ Insulation stripping length: 6mm (0.24in)
