ADJUSTMENT FOR THE SHIFTABLE
At this position, the transmission is automatically shifted
from the 1st gear up to the 3rd gear according to the ve-
hicle speed. You can get the engine brake effect when
using this position during downhill driving.
The drive position prevents the transmission from shifting
into the third or fourth gear. Select drive range 2 for more
power when climbing hills, for the engine braking effects
when driving down steep hills.
In this position, you can only use the 1st gear in the
transmission. Use this position on long mountainous
terrains, steep hills, and rough off-road. This also provides
the engine brake effect on steep downhills.
When moving up a steep hill or driving off road with a heavy load
or trailer, shift into the
“1” position.
If driving for an extended period of time with the “D” or “2”
engaged, constant gear shifting happens and the temperature of
the transmission oil will increase.
CAUTION
Even the gear is in D, 3, 2, 1 position, your vehicle can be back
on the uphill according to gradients, so you have to depress the
brake pedal.
When shifting into a lower gear on a slippery surface, the engine
RPM suddenly changes and you may lose control of your vehicle.
Do not depress the accelerator pedal while shifting.
