Obstacle Detecting Sensor
When you move the gear selector
lever to
“R”, the alarm sounds ac-
cording to the distance from ob-
stacle to vehicle.
PARKING AID SYSTEM
When the gear selector lever is shifted into “R”, the parking aid sys-
tem is activated and the sensors in the rear bumper detect the distance
to any obstacle. You can figure out the distance from the obstacle to
your vehicle by the alarming sound. The alarm interval becomes faster
as your vehicle approaches the object.

• The alarm does not sound if the distance
between sensor and obstacle is less than
25 cm. However, if the sensor detects the
obvious obstacle, the alarm stays on.
• Do not rely on the parking aid system while
gear selector lever is in “R” position. Drive
backward while checking the rear side of
your vehicle.
• If the alarm sounds for 3 seconds when
you select the “R” position with the en-
gine running or ignition “ON”, it means that
there is a malfunction in the system.
