What to do if my Stanley SXGP900XFE motor runs but doesn't suck in water?
    • P
      Patrick BrownAug 11, 2025
If the Stanley Water Pump motor runs but doesn't suck water, several issues could be the cause. First, ensure the pump body was filled with water before starting. If not, fill it. Check for airtight suction hose connections, using recommended accessories and Teflon tape on threads. Also, inspect the foot valve suction strainer for obstructions and clean if necessary. Make sure the suction points are open during priming to allow air to escape. If these steps don't work, fully fill the suction hose with water and wait up to 7 minutes. Reduce excessive suction lift (max. 8 m). Finally, check that the suction hose is immersed in water, and if necessary, lengthen the hose.

Why is the water flow rate insufficient in my Stanley Water Pump?
    • S
      Sharon DawsonAug 20, 2025
If you're experiencing an insufficient water flow rate with your Stanley Water Pump, several factors could be responsible. Excessive suction lift and head, along with external components, can reduce the flow rate. Ensure that the suction lift and head are within the recommended limits. Clean the suction strainer to remove any obstructions. If the water level in the suction point drops too quickly, immerse the foot valve deeper into the water. Finally, if soil in the water is reducing the flow rate, clean the pump body by directing a jet of water through the suction and delivery fittings. If your appliance doesn't have an integral pre-filter, use a pre-filter.

What to do if the thermostat is cutting out my Stanley Water Pump?
    • J
      Jason MorganAug 30, 2025
The thermostat in your Stanley Water Pump might be cutting out the appliance due to a motor overload caused by friction between dirt particles and the impeller, dry operation, or insufficient water flow. To resolve this, clean the inside of the pump body by directing a jet of water through the delivery fitting and allow the thermostat to cool for about 1 hour. Also, check that there is water present and allow the thermostat to cool for about 1 hour.
