: Use hook 5910 893 8800 to
remove the pickup body (1) from
the fuel tank.
Do not overstretch the fuel hose.
: Pull off the pickup body (1),
check it and replace if necessary.
– Reassemble in the reverse
sequence.
12.9.2 Fuel Hose
– Open the tank cap.
– Remove the carburetor, b 12.4
– Remove the pickup body,
b 12.9.1
: Pull the fuel suction hose (1) out
of the guide (arrow).

– Insert suitable levering tool under
the wires.
: Pry hose flange out of bore and
pull fuel suction hose (1) out of
the tank.
– Check the fuel suction hose and
replace if necessary.
Installing
– Use STIHL press fluid to make
installation easier, b 15
– Push the fuel suction hose (1)
through the bore in the fuel tank.
: Position the fuel suction hose (1)
so that the straight side (arrow) of
the flange faces the housing wall,
then push it fully into the bore.
Take care not to damage the wiring
harness.

: Push the fuel suction hose (1)
into the guide (arrow) and
between the wires and the edge
of the manifold seat (2) – fuel
suction hose is thus held in
position.
: Use hook 5910 893 8800 to
remove the fuel suction hose (1)
from the fuel tank.
Do not overstretch the fuel suction
hose.
– Fit the pickup body, b 12.9.1
– Close the tank cap.
– Reassemble all other parts in the
reverse sequence.
