. If your vehicle is an Australia model,
after locking all doors and the rear gate
using the remote transmitter, turning
the power door locking switch to the
unlock position has no effect.
& Key lock-in prevention func-
tion (except vehicles with
double locking system)
This function prevents the doors from
being locked with the key still in the
ignition switch.
! Behavior with key lock-in preven-
tion function operational
With the drivers door open, the doors are
automatically kept unlocked even if the
door locking switch is pushed to the front
(LOCK) position.
! Behavior with key lock-in preven-
tion function non-operational
. If the lock lever is turned to the rear
(LOCK) position with the drivers door
open and the drivers door is then closed,
the drivers door is locked.
. If the spare key is used to lock the
drivers door fro m the outsi de of t he
vehicle, the door is locked.
This functions operational/non-opera-
tional setting can be changed.
Vehicle with genuine SUBARU naviga-
tion system:
The operational/non-operational setting
can be changed using the monitor. For
details, please refer to the Owners Man-
ual supplement for the navigation system.
The setting can also be changed by a
SUBARU dealer. We recommend that you
contact the nearest SUBARU dealer for
details.
Vehicle without genuine SUBARU navi-
gation system:
The setting can be changed b y a
SUBARU dealer. We recommend that
you contact a SUBARU dealer for details.
NOTE
When leaving the vehicle, make sure
that you are holding the key before
locking the doors.
Keyless access with push-
button start system (if
equipped)
1) Access key (main)
2) Access key (sub)
3) Key number plate
4) Security ID plate
The keyless access with push-button start
system allows locking and unlocking of all
doors and the rear gate and starting and
stopping the engine by carrying the
access key. Locking and unlocking by
the remote keyless entry system can also
be controlled with the buttons on the
access key. Refer to the Starting and
Stopping engine (vehicle with push-button
start system) section in chapter 7 for
