The followings are reminders for piston installation:
• Before installing the piston pin, apply molybdenum oil solution
onto its surface.
• Apply engine oil to the big and small ends of the conrod.
• Place a clean rag over the cylinder base to prevent the piston
pin circlip from dropping into crankcase. Install the piston pin
circlip

• Install the piston with the arrow mark
2 facing towards the
exhaust side.
CYLINDER
Before installing the cylinder, oil the big and small ends of the
conrod and also the sliding surface of the piston.
• Install the dowel pins into the crankcase and then install the
cylinder gasket

• Make sure that the piston rings are properly positioned, and
insert the piston into the cylinder.
NOTE:
When mounting the cylinder, keep the cam chain taut. The cam
chain must not be caught between the cam chain drive sprocket
and crankcase when crankshaft is rotated.
• Temporarily tighten the cylinder base nuts.
• Install the cam chain guide

Use a new piston pin circlip
1 to prevent circlip fail-
ure.
Use a new gasket to prevent oil leakage.
