Install the starter gear 1 to the starter clutch.
Check that the rotor 2 turns in the direction of the arrow 3
on the rotor while holding the starter gear, and that the rotor
never turns in the opposite direction of the arrow.
OIL PUMP
The oil pump case securing screw is applied with
SUZUKI THREAD LOCK SUPER “1303”. If an attempt is
made to overhaul the oil pump assembly, the screw may
be damaged. Only the oil pump unit is available as a
replacement.

STARTER TORQUE LIMITER
Do not attempt to disassemble the starter torque lim-
iter. It is unserviceable.
Check the slip torque of the starter torque limiter using the spe-
cial tools and vise as shown, if the slip torque is not within the
specified torque, replace the starter torque limiter with a new
one.

30 – 55 N·m (3.0 – 5.5 kgf-m, 21.5 – 40.0 lb-ft)
