DRIVE CHAIN
Check the drive chain slack.
Drive chain slack: 30–45 mm (1.2–1.8 in)
If adjustment is necessary, carry out the following pro-
cedure.
1. Loosen the axle nut.
2. Adjust the slack in the drive chain by turning the
right and left chain adjuster.
3. Proper chain slack is obtained when the drive chain
slack is up and down, at a point midway between
the two sprockets.
4. After adjusting, tighten the axle nut to the specified
torque.
Rear axle nut: 110 N·m (11.0 kgf-m, 79.5 lbf-ft)
A: Axle nut
B: Adjuster
C: Stopper
WARNING
Improper drive chain adjustment can lose
motorcycle control.
Make sure that both right and left drive chain
adjuster reference number are in the same
position.
This will ensure proper rear wheel alignment.
