Upgrading Previous Versions of I/NET Before You Begin
1-6 I/NET 2000 Getting Started
5. I/NET 2000 supports asynchronous communication and the
.BIN files required for asynchronous files are installed under
the
Typical option. If you are using synchronous modems,
as required by I/NET 4.x, select the
Synchronous option.
6. Run the conversion programs as outlined in Chapter 3,
I/NET Conversions. Depending on your system configura-
tion, some conversion programs may launch automatically
during the upgrade installation process.
Caution: If your system uses file equalization, do NOT run the configuration
program until all host machines have been upgraded, and the files
have been converted to the new format. An unrecoverable file corrup-
tion will occur if a system running version 2.0 or later of I/NET 2000
attempts to read or otherwise access files from an earlier version.
7. Complete the I/NET 2000 configuration process as detailed
in Chapter 4, I/NET Configuration.
8. To take advantage of the full functionality of this version of
I/NET, download the updated controller BIN files to the
appropriate controllers. Controller BIN files updated for this
release are listed below.
