3.1.5 The MAC address list
Introduction
A Media Access Control address (MAC address) is a unique identifier assigned to the physical network interfaces of a
networking device. Blocking a MAC address means that all traffic from this MAC address is blocked.
The MAC ADDRESS LIST page allows you to authorize or deny MAC address(es):
Click Refresh to see the updated list.
Step 1: Specify the default rule
Proceed as follows:
1 In the MAC Address Filtering list, select one of the following:
Black List Mode.
All devices with correct wireless settings (SSID, wireless key, etc.) are able to connect except those listed in the MAC
address list. The MAC address list works as black list.
White List Mode:
By default, wireless access is blocked for all except for those listed in the MAC address list. The MAC address list
works as white list.
2 Click Save.
Step 2: Add exceptions on the default rule
Proceed as follows:
1 In the MAC Address box, type the MAC address that you want to:
Block in case you selected Black List Mode.
Allow in case you selected White List Mode.
2 Click Add.
How to remove exceptions
If you want to delete an entry, proceed as follows:
1 In the MAC Address box, type the MAC address that you want to remove.
2 Click Remove.
