About Dolby Noise Reduction system
Using Dolby NR reduces tape hiss in the high-frequency range. It
boosts the level of the high-frequency during recording, and lowers it
by the same amount during playback, simultaneously reducing high-
frequency interference incurred during the recording process.
This system has the Dolby B-type of noise-reduction system. With
Dolby B NR, the noise is reduced by 10 dB at high frequencies. If you
are playing a tape that was recorded with Dolby NR, use Dolby NR
during playback for best results.
