Display a Wavefo
rm
Setting the D isplay Format
The instrument can display waveforms in two different formats. Choose the format that best suits your needs.
Select Display > Display Format.
Select Y-T format to show a signal
amplitude as it varies over time.
Select X-Y format to compare the
amplitude of Ch 1 (X ) and Ch 2 (Y),
Ch 3 (X) and Ch 4 (Y), Ref 1 (X) and
Ref 2 (Y), or Ref 3 (X) and Ref 4 (Y)
waveform records point by point.
Quick Tips
XY format i
s particularly useful for studying phase relationships such as Lissajous Patterns.
XY format i
s a dot-only display, although it can have persistence. The Vector style selection has no effect when you
select XY format.
Selecting the Waveform Interpolation
Select Di
splay > Waveform Interpolation,
and then select one of the following:
Sin(x)/x interpolation computes record
points using a c urve fit between the
actual s
amples acquired.
Linear i
nterpolation computes record
points between actual acquired samples
by using a straight line fit.
