Safety
b Hydraulic Fluid
Fine jets of hydraulic fluid under pressure can penetrate the
skin.
Do not use your fingers to check for small leaks or expose
uncovered areas of your body to leaks.
Check for leaks using a piece of cardboard.
b Fluid Levels
Ensure Machine is on level Stable Ground, gear lever is in
neutral and the engine is stopped when checking ALL fluid
levels.
b Frozen Battery Electrolyte
Batteries with frozen electrolyte may explode if used or
charged.
Never 'jump start' a machine with a frozen battery.
To help prevent freezing, keep the battery fully charged.
b Fires
Using water to extinguish an oil fire could spread the fire or give
you a shock from an electrical fire.
Use a carbon dioxide, dry chemical or foam extinguisher whilst
waiting for the fire brigade.
Keep fire extinguisher seviceable and have it checked regularly.
b Water Cooled Engines
Water cooled systems operate under pressure to increase the
boiling point of the coolant. Therefore, the coolant temperature
may be greater than boiling water at standard atmospheric
pressure (100ºC).

Medical Help
