Zone Connections
Any zones that are not being used must be linked out or
programmed as ‘Not Used’ (see page 35 for details).
When using End Of Line wiring, ensure that no more than 5
detectors are connected to each zone.
A zone short can be programmed for ‘Active’ or ‘Tamper’
response (see page 50 for details).
End Of Line Normal
Use this wiring configuration when connecting normally
closed or normally open detection devices to the zone using
2-Wires.
When Configuration Option 21 (see page 50 for details) is
programmed as ‘Short = Tamper’ the system will respond as
follows:
Zone Status System Response
0 - 2k Zone Tamper
2k1 - 4k6 (EOL) Zone Secure
4k7 - 20k Zone Active
21k+ Zone Tamper
When using this configuration, no more than 3
detectors can be connected to each zone.
When Configuration Option 21 (see page 50 for details) is
programmed as ‘Short = Active’ the system will respond as
follows:
Zone Status System Response
0 - 2k Zone Active
2k1 - 4k6 (EOL) Zone Secure
4k7 - 30k Zone Active
31k+ Zone Tamper
When using this configuration, no more than 5
detectors can be connected to each zone.
For details on testing zones, see page 92.
End Of Line with Anti-Masking
Use this wiring configuration when connecting normally
closed detection devices to the zone using 2-Wires.
When Configuration Option 21 (see page 50 for details) is
programmed as ‘Short = Tamper’ the system will respond as
follows:
Zone Status System Response
0 - 1k S/C Zone Tamper
1k1 - 4k0 (EOL) Zone Secure
4k1 - 5k6 Zone Fault
5k7 - 8k Zone Active
8k1 - 20k Zone Mask
21k+ Zone Tamper
When Configuration Option 21 (see page 50 for details) is
programmed as ‘Short = Active’ the system will respond as
follows:
Zone Status System Response
0 - 1k S/C Zone Active
1k1 - 4k0 (EOL) Zone Secure
4k1 - 5k6 Zone Fault
5k7 - 8k Zone Active
8k1 - 20k Zone Mask
31k+ Zone Tamper
When using either of these configurations, no more
than one detector can be connected to each zone.
This configuration is only applicable if the Mask
attribute on the zone is enabled, seepage 38 for details
on programming zones for anti-masking.
