General operation

Switching the TV set on and off
l To switch the TV set on, press the button located on the side or on the bottom
left corner of the front.
If the indicator on the front is
red, the set is in standby mode.You can then:
- press the button on the side of the TV set, the or any numeric button
on the remote control, or
- press the
TV, OK or PR+/PR- buttons to switch the television on at the last
channel or AV programme you were watching, or
- press the
AV button to switch the television on at the last AV programme you were
watching.
When the set is on, the indicator on the front is
green.
l To put the TV set into standby mode, press the button on the side of the TV
set or the button on the remote control.When the set is in standby mode, the
indicator on the front is
red.The TV set remains powered up, but with low energy
consumption.
l To switch off the TV set, press the button located on the side of the set or on the
bottom left corner of the front
.
Volume
l Volume control: use the à VOL ¨ buttons on the side of the TV set or press the
+/- button on the remote control to increase or decrease the volume.
l Sound mute: press the button to temporarily mute the sound. Press this button
again or the
+ button to restore it.
l Headphone volume control: press the
+/- button on the remote control to display
the volume control bar.Then use the buttons to switch to the headphone
volume control bar. Use the buttons to adjust the volume.
Accessing channels
l Using the numeric buttons:
- for channels 1 to 9, press the corresponding button;
- for channels 10 to 99,
- press the tens digit for a few seconds to display it on the screen, then press the
units digit. For instance, for programme 24, press and hold 2 to display 2-, then
press 4; or
- press the
0 button to display “--”, then enter the two digits.
l Using the
PR+/PR- buttons: scroll through the channels.AV programmes are not
included in the cycle unless you use the buttons on the side of the TV set.
l Using the list of programmes: refer to page 11.
To access the channel or AV programme previously being watched, press the
RETURN
button.
Accessing AV programmes
Press the AV button to display the last selected audio-visual programme and scan through
the other audio-visual programmes.
AV selection loop:AV1,AV2,AV3 (depending on model),VGA, DVI, CMP (= component,
YPrPb or YCrCb).
O Demo mode
This mode is used to highlight the benefits of the Hi Pix setting.
Press the
DEMO button on the remote control to switch to Demo mode and activate the
Hi Pix setting. Press again the DEMO button to deactivate the Hi Pix setting. If you do
not press any button for 12 seconds, the TV set alternates between on and off with the Hi
Pix setting. Press the
DEMO button to manually activate/deactivate the setting.
To exit Demo mode, press any button on the remote control except
+/-, , and
DEMO.
The Hi Pix setting is activated by default.
