Display menu
1. Select the Display option in the main menu using the buttons, and press OK to confirm.
2. Select an option using the buttons, and press OK to confirm.
Sound menu
1. Select the Sound option in the main menu using the and buttons and press OK to confirm.
2. Select an option using the buttons, and press OK to confirm.

Depending on the format of the DVD disc, you can choose the
picture format best suited to the format of your TV screen.
1. Select a format using the buttons:
4x3 Letterbox:gives best reproduction of pictures
recorded in this format (i.e. with horizontal bands at the
top and bottom of the screen) or in 16x9,
4x3 Standard: reproduces a 4x3 picture without
distortion,
16x9 Widescreen: reproduces 16x9 format films in full
on a 16x9 screen.
2. Press OK to confirm.
On-Screen Displays
You can choose the information you want to appear on the
screen.
1. Select an option using the buttons:
Info Displays: this displays the elapsed time and current
play function.
Angle indicator: this is used to select a camera angle if
the disc offers more than one.
Scene Again Text: subtitles appear when you press the
RETURN button to replay the last ten seconds which have
just played.
2. Press OK to enable or disable a particular option.
Sound Logic
You can use this function to control the different sound levels
via dynamic compression. It improves the quality of the sound
track at a low volume and quietens the loudest sounds.
Press
OK to enable or disable the function.
Note:This function is available only on DVD discs recorded in Dolby
Digital.
O Digital Output
Choose the type of sound that will be output by the digital
audio output socket appropriate for the device you intend to
connect to this socket.
1. Select the Digital Output option using the buttons
and press
OK.
2. Make your selection according to the type of disc and
sound you want to obtain from the digital audio output
socket and press
OK to confirm (see table below).
Notes:
DTS is a digital sound compression technique developed by
Digital Theater Sound Systems for digital multichannel audio
signals. “DTS” and “DTS Digital Out” are trademarks registered
by Digital Theater Systems Inc.
Dolby Digital is a sound compression technique
developed by Dolby Laboratories for digital audio
multichannel signals.The Dolby Digital system
supports any audio channel configuration, from stereo sound (2
channels) up to the digital “surround” sound 5.1.
If you have a Dolby Surround Pro Logic
amplifier/decoder, you can still gain the benefits
of surround sound,
- either with titles with the Dolby Surround label
- or with DVD films where the sound has been recorded through Dolby
Digital 5.1 channels.
In both cases, your Pro Logic decoder must be connected to the 2-
channel analogue output of your TV/DVD.
Linear PCM is a signal recording format used for CDs. CDs
are recorded at 44.1kHz /16 bits. DVDs are recorded at
48 kHz / 16 bits, or even up to 96 kHz / 24 bits.
