5 CHECK AND ADJUSTMENT
5.3.5 Checking/Adjusting the Cross-Hairs on Telescopic/Wide-angle Images
● Checking telescopic Image
First, loosen the capstan adjustment screw on the side to which the vertical cross-hair
line must be moved. Then tighten the adjustment screw on the opposite side by an
equal amount which will leave the tension of the adjustment screws unchanged.
Revolve in the counterclockwise direction to loosen and in the clockwise direction to
tighten, but revolve as little as possible.
Perform following adjustment after complete above adjustment .
Section 5.5 “Compensation Systematic Error of Instrument”.
Section 5.2 “Checking the Optical Axis”.
1 Level the instrument with the plate level.
2 With the telescope, collimate target point A,
located at a distance of at least 15 meters.
3 Check that the telescopic image (magnification
of 1) is displayed. If the cross-hairs are
centered on point A, adjustment is not
necessary. If they are off-center, perform
adjustment as follows.
● Adjustment
Prior to adjustment, carry out section 5.3.4“Collimation of the Instrument” .
1 With the telescope, collimate target point A,
located at a distance of at least 15 meters.
2 Press the [ADJUST] key.
3 Press the [CMOS SENSOR ADJUST] key.
