Maintenance
Note: Determine the left and right sides of the machine from the normal operating position.
CAUTION
If you leave the key in the key switch, someone could accidently start the engine and seriously
injure you or other bystanders.
Remove the key from the key switch and disconnect the wires from the spark plugs before
you do any maintenance. Set the wires aside so that they do not accidentally contact the
spark plugs.
Maintenance Safety
Park the machine on a level surface, disengage
the grinder hydraulics, lower the grinder , engage
the parking brake, shut of f the engine, and remove
the key . W ait for all movement to stop and allow
the machine to cool before adjusting, servicing,
cleaning, or storing it.
Clean up oil or fuel spills.
Do not allow untrained personnel to service the
machine.
Use jack stands to support the components when
required.
Carefully release pressure from components with
stored energy .
Disconnect the battery before making any repairs.
Keep your hands and feet away from the moving
parts. If possible, do not make adjustments with
the engine running.
Keep all parts in good working condition and all
hardware tightened. Replace all worn or damaged
decals.
Do not tamper with the safety devices.
Use only genuine T oro replacement parts.
Recommended Maintenance Schedule(s)
Maintenance Service
Interval
Maintenance Procedure
After the rst 8 hours
Change the engine oil.
After the rst 50 hours
Check and adjust the track tension.
Before each use or daily
Grease the machine. (Grease immediately after every washing.)
Check the engine-oil level.
Check the condition of and clean the tracks.
Check the condition of the teeth; rotate or replace any that are worn or damaged
and torque the nuts for all teeth.
Check for loose fasteners.
After each use
Remove debris from the machine.
Every 25 hours
Check the battery electrolyte level.
Check the hydraulic-uid level.
Every 100 hours
Change the engine oil.
Replace or clean and gap the spark plug(s).
Check and adjust the track tension.
Check the hydraulic lines for leaks, loose ttings, kinked lines, loose mounting
supports, wear , weather , and chemical deterioration and repair if necessary .
Every 200 hours
Change the engine-oil lter .
Replace the fuel lter .
Replace the hydraulic lter .
Every 250 hours
Replace the primary air lter and check the condition of the safety lter (more often
in dirty or dusty conditions).
Check and grease the road wheels.
