UsingtheSprayer
BeforeOperatingtheSprayer
Somechemicalsaremoreaggressivethanothers
andeachchemicalinteractsdifferentlywithvarious
materials.Someconsistenciesofsprayerchemicals
(e.g.wettablepowders,charcoal)aremoreabrasive
andleadtohigher-wearrates.Ifachemicalis
availableinaformulationthatwouldprovideincreased
lifetothesprayer,usethisalternativeformulation.
Calibratethesprayerbeforeyoustartthespray
application;refertoCalibratingtheSprayer(page35).
FillingtheSprayTank
Important:Ensurethatthechemicalsthatyou
areusinginthesprayerarecompatibleforuse
withO-ringsandsealsmadefromuoroelastomer
material(refertothechemicalmanufacturer's
label;itshouldindicateifitisnotcompatible).If
youuseachemicalthatisnotcompatiblewith
uoroelastomermaterial,theO-ringsandsealsin
thesprayercandegradeandleak.
Important:Beforeapplyingchemicalstothejob
site,verifythatyouhavesettheproperapplication
ratepriortollingthetank.
1.Movethemachinetoalevelsurface,move
motion-controllevertotheNEUTRALposition,
shutofftheengine,waitforallmovingpartsto
stop,removekey,andengageparkingbrake.
2.Ensurethatthenarrow-spraypatternand
wide-spraypatternleversareintheOFFposition
andthehandleforthedrainvalveforthetank
rotated90°counterclockwisetotheisCLOSED
position(Figure41).
