usingawirebrushbecausegritmayeventually
releasefromtheplugandfallintothecylinder.
Theresultisusuallyadamagedengine.
Note:Removeandinspectthesparkplugsifthe
enginemalfunctions.
RemovingtheSparkPlugs
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,disengage
thePTO,andengagetheparkingbrake.
2.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
3.Disconnectthespark-plugwires(Figure28).

insulator,theengineisoperatingproperly.A
blackcoatingontheinsulatorusuallymeans
thattheaircleanerisdirty.
2.Ifneeded,cleanthesparkplugwithawirebrush
toremovecarbondeposits.
