Important:Adjustthebrakewheneveryouadjust
thebelttensionorbrakelinkage.
Important:Thebeltmustbetightenoughto
notslipduringheavyloads,whilecuttinggrass.
Over-tensioningthebeltreducesthelifeofthe
spindlebearing,belt,andidlerpulley.
Thebeltmustbetightenoughsothatitdoesnot
slipduringheavyloadswhilecuttinggrass,but
over-tensioningthebeltwillreducebeltandspindle
bearinglife.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,disengage
thePTO,andengagetheparkingbrake.
2.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
3.Loosenthelocknutontheturnbuckle(Figure
41).
4.Adjustthetensionofthebelt.
•Rotatetheturnbuckletowardtherearofthe
machinetoincreasethetensiononthebelt.
•Rotatetheturnbuckletowardthefrontofthe
machinetodecreasethetensiononthebelt
(Figure40).
