Servicing the Spark Plug(s)
Service Interval : Every 200 hours —Check the spark
plug(s).
Every 500 hours —Replace the spark plug(s).
T ype: Champion XC12YC
Air Gap: 0.76 mm (0.03 inch)
Removing the Spark Plug(s)
1. Shut of f the engine, remove the key , and wait
for all moving parts to stop before leaving the
operating position.
2. Disengage the PT O, move the motion-control
levers to the N EUTRAL -L OCK position, and
engage the parking brake.
3. Remove the left hydraulic-unit shroud in the
order listed with Figure 61 . This gives you
access to the front spark plug.

Checking the Spark Plug(s)
Important: Do not clean the spark plug(s).
Always replace the spark plug(s) when it has a
black coating, worn electrodes, an oily lm, or
cracks.
If you see light brown or gray on the insulator , the
engine is operating properly . A black coating on the
insulator usually means the air cleaner is dirty .
Set the gap to 0.76 mm (0.03 inch).

Installing the Spark Plug(s)
1. Install the spark plug(s) as shown in Figure 64 .
2. Install the hydraulic shroud ( Figure 61 ).
