Cleaning the
Engine-Cooling Fins and
Shrouds
Service Interval : Every 100 hours/Y early (whichever
comes rst)
1. Park the machine on a level surface, disengage
the blade-control switch (PT O), and engage the
parking brake.
2. Shut of f the engine, remove the key , and wait
for all moving parts to stop before leaving the
operating position.
3. Remove the air-intake screen, the recoil starter ,
and the fan housing ( Figure 85 ).
4. Clean the debris and grass from the engine
parts.
5. Install the air-intake screen, the recoil starter ,
and the fan housing ( Figure 85 ).

Hydraulic-Unit Shrouds
Service Interval : Before each use or daily
1. Park the machine on a level surface, disengage
the blade-control switch (PT O), and engage the
parking brake.
2. Shut of f the engine, remove the key , and wait
for all moving parts to stop before leaving the
operating position.
3. Move the seat forward.
4. Clean the debris and grass from the
hydraulic-unit shrouds ( Figure 86 ).
5. Position the seat.
