Replacing the Counter-Rotating
Belt
1. Park the machine on a level surface, disengage
the blade-control switch (PT O), and engage the
parking brake.
2. Shut of f the engine, remove the key , and wait
for all moving parts to stop before leaving the
operating position.
3. Lower the mower to the 76 mm (3 inches) height
of cut.
4. Lift the oor pan up to gain access to the center
pulley .
5. Remove the plastic belt cover ( Figure 92 ).
6. Remove the 3 bolts holding the metal belt cover
in place and remove the metal belt cover .

to remove tension on the idler spring ( Figure 91 ).
