1.Cleantheareawheretheltermounts(Figure
51).
2.Removethelterandcleanthemounting
surface.
3.Lubricatethegasketonthelterwithcleanoil.
4.Installthelterbyhanduntilthegasketcontacts
themountingsurface;thenrotateanadditional
1/2turn.

2.Ensurethatthefueltankisatleasthalffull.
3.Unlatchandraisethehood.
DANGER
Undercertainconditions,dieselfueland
fuelvaporsarehighlyammableand
explosive.Areorexplosionfromfuel
canburnyouandothersandcancause
propertydamage.
Neversmokewhenhandlingfuel,and
stayawayfromanopenameorwhere
fuelfumesmaybeignitedbyaspark.
4.Opentheair-bleedscrewonthefuel-injection
pump(Figure52).

position.

performingthisprocedure.However,iftheengine
doesnotstart,theremaybeairtrappedbetweenthe
injectionpumpandinjectors;refertoBleedingAir
fromtheInjectors(page44).
