mm(0.03inch)shimbetweenthecuttingunit
frameandbrackettoachievethedesiredheight
ofcut(Figure70).
3.Installtheheight-of-cutbrackettothecutting
unitframewiththeremainingshimsassembled
belowtheheight-of-cutbracket(Figure70).
4.Securethesocket-headboltandspacerand
angenut.
Note:Thesocket-headboltandspacerare
heldtogetherwiththread-lockingcompoundto
preventthespacerfromfallinginsidethecutting
unitframe.
5.Verifythe12o’clockpositionsettingandadjust
ifneeded.
6.Determineifyouneedtoadjustonly1orboth
(rightandleftside)height-of-cutbrackets.
Note:Ifthe3o’clockor9o’clocksideis1.6to
6.0mm(0.06to0.24inch)higherthanthenew
frontheight,thenyoudonotneedtoadjustfor
thatside.Adjusttheothersidetowithin±2.2
mm(0.09inch)ofthecorrectside.
7.Adjusttherightand/orleftheight-of-cutbrackets
byrepeatingsteps1through3.
8.Securethecarriageboltsandangenuts.
9.Verifythe12,3,and9o’clockheights.
ServicingtheFrontRoller
Inspectthefrontrollerforwear,excesswobble,or
binding.Serviceorreplacetherollerorcomponentsif
anyoftheseconditionsexist.
RemovingtheFrontRoller
1.Removetheroller-mountingbolt(Figure71).

spacerfordamage(Figure71).

InstallingtheFrontRoller
1.Pressingontheouterraceonlyorequallyonthe
innerandouterrace,presstherstbearinginto
therollerhousing(Figure71).
Note:Pressontheouterraceonlyorequally
ontheinnerandouterrace.
2.Insertthespacer(Figure71).
3.Pressingonouterraceonlyorequallyonthe
innerandouterrace,pressthesecondbearing
intotherollerhousinguntilitcontactsthespacer
(Figure71).
4.Installtherollerassemblyintothecuttingunit
frame.
Important:Securingtherollerassembly
withagaplargerthan1.5mm(0.06inch)
createsasideloadonthebearingandcan
leadtoprematurebearingfailure.
5.Verifythatthereisnomorethana1.5mm(0.06
inch)gapbetweentherollerassemblyandthe
roller-mountbracketsofthecuttingunitframe.
Note:Ifthereisagapover1.5mm(0.06inch),
installenough5/8-inchdiameterwasherstotake
uptheslop.
6.Torquethemountingboltto108N∙m(80ft-lb).
