ServicingtheBattery
ServiceInterval:Every25hours—Checkthe
electrolytelevel.(Ifthemachineis
instorage,checkitevery30days.)
Maintainthebattery-electrolytelevelproperlyand
keepthetopofthebattery.Ifyoustorethemachinein
ahotlocation,thebatterywilldischargemorerapidly
thanifyoustorethemachineinacoollocation.
Maintainthecelllevelwithdistilledordemineralized
water.Donotllthecellsabovethebottomofthesplit
ringinsideeachcell.Installthellercapswiththe
ventspointingtotherear(towardthefueltank).

Batteryelectrolytecontainssulfuricacid
whichisfatalifconsumedandcausessevere
burns.
•Donotdrinkelectrolyteandavoidcontact
withskin,eyes,orclothing.Wearsafety
glassestoshieldyoureyesandrubber
glovestoprotectyourhands.
•Fillthebatterywherecleanwaterisalways
availableforushingtheskin.
Keepthetopofthebatterycleanbywashingit
periodicallywithabrushdippedinammoniaora
solutionofbicarbonateofsoda.Flushthetopsurface
withwateraftercleaning.Donotremovetheller
capswhilecleaningthebattery.
Thebatterycablesmustbetightontheterminalsto
providegoodelectricalcontact.
WARNING
Incorrectlyroutingthebatterycablecould
damagethetractorandcables,causing
sparks.Sparkscancausethebatterygases
toexplode,resultinginpersonalinjury.
•Alwaysdisconnectthenegative(black)
batterycablebeforedisconnectingthe
positive(red)cable.
•Alwaysconnectthepositive(red)battery
cablebeforeconnectingthenegative
(black)cable.
Iftheterminalshavecorrosion,disconnectthecables
(thenegative(–)cablerst)andscrapetheclamps
andterminalsseparately.Connectthecables(positive
(+)cablerst)andcoattheterminalswithpetroleum
jelly.
ServicingtheFuses
Thefusesinmachineselectricalsystemarelocated
underconsolecover.
Ifthemachinestopsorhasotherelectricalsystem
issues,checkthefuses.Graspeachfuseinturnand
removethem1atatime,checkingifanyareblown.
Important:Ifyouneedtoreplaceafuse,always
usethesametypeandamperage-ratedfuseas
theoneyouarereplacing,otherwiseyoucould
damagetheelectricalsystem.Refertothedecal
nexttothefusesforadiagramofeachfuseand
itsamperage.
Note:Ifafuseblowsfrequently,youprobablyhave
ashortintheelectricalsystemandshouldhaveit
servicedbyaqualiedservicetechnician.
