21. Loosen the oil dipstick. Remove the oil drain cap and
LQVWDOOWKHGUDLQKRVHRQWRWKHRLOGUDLQ¿WWLQJ7ZLVW
WKHRLOGUDLQ¿WWLQJFRXQWHUFORFNZLVHDQGSXOOWR
drain the oil from the engine (Fig. 402).
25. Attach chains/straps and a hoist to the lift points on
the engine. Raise and remove the engine from the
frame (Fig. 403).
22. Loosen the engine oil dipstick.
 $IWHUWKHRLOKDVGUDLQHGWXUQWKHRLOGUDLQ¿WWLQJ
clockwise to close. Tighten the oil dipstick.
24. Remove the drain hose and reinstall the oil drain
cap.

26. If the engine is being serviced, refer to the engine
manufacture’s service manual.
27. If a new engine is being installed:
 7UDQVIHUWKHPDUNLQJRQWKHWKURWWOHFKRNHEUDFNHW
to the bracket on the new engine.
 ,QVWDOODFDEOHWLHRQWKHQHZHQJLQHWRURXWHWKH
throttle/choke cables through.
 7UDQVIHUWKH5FODPSWKDWWKHWKURWWOHFKRNH
cables get routed through to the new engine.
