12. Install the spring to the idler and brake bracket
assemblies (Fig. 582).
13. Install the mower deck. Refer to “42” Mower Deck
Installation” on page 7-67.

11. Install the idler bracket spring to the stud on the
mower deck (Fig. 581).

42” Mower Belt Replacement
Removal
1. Remove the mower deck from the tractor. Refer to
“42” Mower Deck Removal” on page 7-64.
2. Remove the 3 self-tapping screws securing the left
hand belt cover to the mower deck (Fig. 583).

3. Remove the left hand belt guard from the mower
deck (Fig. 584).
