1.Positionthesprayeronalevelsurface,engage
theparkingbrake,shutoffthespraypump,shut
offtheengine,andremovethekey.
2.Waituntiltheengineiscool,thenremovethe
radiatorcap(Figure92).
3.Placealargedrainpanundertheradiator.
4.Openthedrainvalveanddrainthecoolantinto
thepan(Figure93).

6.Removetheradiatorcap(Figure92).
7.Slowlylltheradiatorwithcoolantto
approximately2.5cm(1inch)belowthesealing
surfaceofthecap.
Note:Useenoughcoolanttolltheengine
andthesystemlines.Thisallowsthecoolantto
expandwithoutitoverowingwhiletheengine
iswarmingup.
8.Starttheenginewiththecaplooseonthe
radiator(Figure92).
9.Allowtheenginetowarmupuntilthethermostat
opens.
Note:Theenginethermostatshouldopen
whenthehand-heldthermometerindicatesthe
coolanttemperatureisbetween79°to88°C
(175°to190°F).
10.Oncethecoolanthaswarmedup,topoffthe
coolantleveltothesealingsurfaceofthecap
andtightenthecap(Figure92).
11.Opentheexpansion-tankcapandllthetank
withcoolanttotheColdlevel(Figure92).
12.Checkthecoolantlevelsafterseveralengine
startupandshut-downcycles.
Note:Addcoolanttotheradiatorandexpansion
tankasneeded.
