CAUTION
AttachmetertestleadstotheACoutputterminals(theyellowwires)intheconnectorbefore
startingtheengine.Ifthestatorisgrounded(damagedorworn)andthemetertestleads
contactthecenterDCoutputpin(theredwire)intheconnector,arcingcouldoccur,damaging
thewiring.
Whencheckingthealternatorcomponents,preformthetestsinthefollowingsequence:
1.Disconnectstatorwireharnessfromregulator/rectier.
2.InsertredtestleadintoVΩreceptacleinmeter.
3.InsertblacktestleadintoCOMreceptacle.
4.RotateselectortoV~(ACvolts)position.
5.Attachredandblacktestleadprobestothe2ACoutputterminals(yellowwires)oftheconnectoras
showninFigure106.
Note:YoucanattachthetestleadprobestoeitherACoutputterminal.
