4. Purpose of Use of SUA 125 NUMERIC Lathe.
The SUA 125 NUMERIC lathe has been designed for the machining of outside surfaces of revolution and plane surfaces of
workpieces to be clamped:
- swing over bed up to max. diameter of 1 250 mm
- swing over carriage up to max. diameter of 930 mm
CAUTION: => programming
In case of turning larger workpiece diameters than 1 250 mm, face plate jaws could be collided with longitudinal saddle.
Outside surfaces of revolution of the workpiece supported in centres in lenght equal to the distance between centres can be
machined without tool adjustment only in the range of turning lenght.
The turning lenght of the SUA 125 NUMERIC lathe is shorter of 80 mm than the distance between centers, when the
tailstock sleeve is shifted in.
Inside surfaces of revolution and threads may be turned as well on the basis of workpiece program (source program).
Other technological possibilities are conditioned by utilization of the control system or accessories or SUA 125 NUMERIC
special version.
4.1. Requirements for lathe operator connected with personal safety.
The dangerous situations which come to existence in lathe service are mentioned in following items with the
recommendation for ensuring the safety and hygiene of work.
Workpiece
1. The workpiece dimensions exceeding the clamping possibilities must not be clamped. (swing, distance between centres).
2. The workpiece exceeding the manufacturing possibilities must not be clamped.
(Max. mass, unbalance of round figure, cutting speed required).
WARNING:(operator + programming) the range of machined diameters from 620 to 1 250 mm should be solved as a
special technological cases.
Max. turning lenght must be shorter of 80 mm than the distance between centres (when the tailstock sleeve is shifted in) so
that the tool holder could not meet collide with the
tailstock or tailstock sleeve or spindle flange.
3. The oil soiled workpieces must not be clamped. Only cleaned workpieces should be clamped regularly.
4. Do not handle the workpiece by hand which are bulky and difficult to handle.
Only workpiece up to mass of setting down by the requirements of ergonomics may be handled by hand.
That is the interrelation to the operator activity and turning as described in this Manual.
The requirements of safety clamping method and safety handling should be respected in power handled workpieces.
5. The workpiece must be located correct to the chuck, rest and centre.
6. Make sure if the workpiece is held in chuck or another clamping device regulary.
7. Great care must be taken in turning the asymmetrical workpieces.
8. Great care must be taken in turning long workpieces, especially their burrs and flashes.
9. Follow the conditions for the workpiece in accordance with the technological process in
turning.
10. Hands must never be placed on the chuck or workpiece untill the workspindle stops.
11. Stop the work spindle before chucking the workpiece or clamping it to the face plate.
12. The suitable chuck wrench should be used for workpiece clamping.
Operator
13. CAUTION: (operator) Do not intervene in the dangerous space round the workpiece, chuck or face plate, or work
carrier when the workpiece is carried between dead centres and being turned.
Never try to carry out however interventions with your hands round the chuck and workpiece in turning process.
