5.2.9. Tailstock (fig. 5.6):

The tailstock is:
- used for locking or mounting of the turned workpiece between centres which is mounted above the carriage (or above the
bed).
- of a rigid construction, sliding in its guideway by means of a pinion gear with a rack in bed.
- fixed to the bed by means of two pairs of holders and four stud bolts with washers and nuts 1.
- locked with a pawl inserted to a casted rack of the bed.
- equipped with a dead centre with apex angle of 60 degrees.
The movement range of tailstock in longitudinal direction is possible between the carriage and the right-hand end of the
bed.
The taistock can be used for the hole drilling, eventually in tapping or threading by means of threading die.
Optional accessories of tailstock:
- power operated travel
- measuring equipment for axis force on the tailstock sleeve.
- dead centre with a distance ring and 90 degrees included angle.
- taper drill socket for tailstock sleeve for inserting drills with the distance ring (the tailstock adaptation by the
manufacturer).
