5.2.7. Ball circulating lead screw
is placed along the front part of bed. The left end of ball circulating lead screw is driven by means of separate driving unit
through the indented belt. And the second end is supported on bearing on the right bed end.
SERVIS of the ball circulating lead screw is carried out in accordance with its supplier demands.
5.2.8. Carriage
consists of a system of slides that make positioning of the lathe tool possible to the desirable position in accordance with
the workpiece and its movement in specific direction and sence in turning.
The rotary motion of the ball circulating lead screw is changed into feed movement of the tool clamped in the tool holder.
The basic motion of the carriage is on the bedways in a section between the headstock and the tailstock (in the direction of Z
axis).
The parts of carriage:
- longitudinal saddle
- slide rest
- guideways , cross slide and ball circulating screw and nut of cross
feed of carriage
- cross slide rest
