OPERATION

The equipment should be energized
in
sequence by starting at the source end of the
system and working towards the load end.
First the main devices, then the feeder devices
and then the branch circuit devices should be
closed.
With all removable barriers in place and all
doors closed and latched, the devices should
be turned on with a firm, positive motion.
Protective devices and switches that are not
quick-acting should not be “teased” into the
closed (or open) positions.

switch handle should be moved between OFF
and ON positions in a single continuous
smooth movement. (Fig.
