3 PROFINET Information
PROFINET is the innovative open standard for Industrial Ethernet and satisfies all
requirements for automation technology.
PROFINET is a publicly accessible specification, which was published by the IEC
(IEC/PAS 62411) in 2005. Since 2003 the specification is part of the Standards
IEC 61158 and IEC 61784.
PROFINET is supported by “PROFIBUS International” and “INTERBUS Club”.
