7. BACKUP BATTERY
The Traka21 is supplied with an optional backup battery with systems inside the UK. A system outside the UK will need
to source a battery using the information in the Battery Specification section below.
7.1 BATTERY SPECIFICATION
The backup battery is kept charged by the system when running from the mains so that it is ready to be used should
there be a power failure.
The service life of the battery is typically 5 years. Should the battery require replacing then it is important that it is
replaced with the correct type! The battery can be sourced directly from Traka – the following battery is
recommended:
YUASA NP1-.2-12 12V, 1.2AH Valve Regulated Lead Acid Battery.
7.2 BATTERY CONNECTION CODE
Connect the Red Connector to the Red Battery Terminal (indicated with the + symbol)
Connect the Blue Connector to the Black Battery Terminal (indicated with the – symbol)
