Diesel pre-heating
INFORMATION
The fuel filter is equipped with diesel pre-heating.
At low outside temperatures below -20 °C (-4 °F), diesel pre-heating has to be switched on before
starting the engine.

(1) Press the "Diesel pre-heating" rocker switch 1.
Light bar 2 lights up.
The diesel in the fuel filter is pre-heated.
INFORMATION
When the light bar 2 goes off, the diesel in the fuel filter has been pre-heated.
The engine can be started.
Starting the engine
(1) Turn preheater starter switch to position "II".
Engine starts.
(2) Release preheater starter switch.
Indicators on the display are active.
INFORMATION
After the engine starts, the second test phase "test steering system and axle catch mode" is run-
ning. The display will show a light bar with a message and a lighted steering program icon. During
this test phase the CHALLENGER can not be moved.
