B. Inspections before beginning operation
Technical defects!
Neglected or insufficient inspections can lead to technical defects on the CHALLENGER550.
Operating the CHALLENGER550 with technical defects may result in death or serious injuries.
Perform all inspections with due care.
Always observe the instructions as to whether to perform the inspections with the engine run-
ning or idled.
Incorrectly performed inspection work!
Failure to follow the given sequence may result in damage to the CHALLENGER550.
First, perform all the checks for which the engine has to be off.
Vehicle general
• Damage to vehicle (leaks, body, cab, towing couplings)
• Engine (coolant, engine oil, battery)
• Lighting, brake lights, turn signals
• Fuel level indicator
• All safety equipment in functioning condition
• Warning & instruction signs all present and legible
Chassis
• Tires (damage, nails or foreign objects, air pressure)
• Brake test, operating and parking brakes (never carry out at aircraft!)
Lifting devices
• Proper operation of hydraulic system (fill level of hydraulic oil)
