Safety
Screw connections that have been loosened during maintenance and repair work should always be tightened again.
If it is necessary to remove safety devices during maintenance or repair work, the safety devices must be re-installed and
checked immediately aer the maintenance and repair work has been completed.
At the beginning of the maintenance/repair/servicing work, the Atmos, and in particular any connections and screw
connections, must be free from all dirt and residue, such as dust, operating substances or maintenance materials. Do
not use aggressive or solvent-based cleaning agents; use lint-free cleaning cloths.
Use only mild water-based cleaning agents. Pay attention to the manufacturer’s information. Do not use any organic
solvents because there is a risk of fire and explosion.
Ensure the safe and environmentally-friendly disposal of operating and auxiliary materials as well as replacement parts.
2.8 Notes on special types of hazard
ELECTRICAL POWER
Work on the electrical equipment of the Atmos must only be performed by a qualified electrician or by instructed
personnel under the guidance and supervision of a qualified electrician in accordance with electrotechnical rules.
Aer switching off the system, always wait five minutes so that the built-in capacitors in the control system can
discharge. The casing may only be opened aer this time period has elapsed.
If the power supply cable of this machine is damaged, the machine must not be put into operation. Replace the power
supply cable immediately in order to avoid hazards (spare part number in the appendix).
Use only original fuses with the specified amperage.
Never do any work on live parts.
When executing repairs, make sure that the design features are not changed in a way that reduces safety, in particular,
creepage distances and clearances must not be reduced by insulation.
The proper grounding of the electrical system must be ensured by a protective conductor system.
In the event of malfunctions in the electrical power supply, immediately disconnect the Atmos from the power supply
by:
•
switching off the Atmos using the on/off switch and then
•
removing the plug of the power cable from the Atmos IEC connector.
DUSTS AND OTHER CHEMICAL SUBSTANCES
With the Amos exhaust system, sometimes toxic dusts are filtered out of polluted air. Depending on the materials used,
these dusts may be hazardous to health or even carcinogenic.
Particular caution must be exercised when handling toxic dusts.
When handling chemical substances, the applicable regulations and the manufacturer’s safety data sheets for these
substances must be observed and complied with in regard to storage, handling, use and disposal. In the event that
dusts from the filters or the exhaust hose come into contact with the eyes or skin, the affected area must be rinsed
immediately with plenty of water. Suitable equipment (eye wash bottles, sink, shower) must be available in the
proximity of the workstation.
