5.6 Bleeding DGA monitor
• Cabinet key
• 5-mm Allen key
The DGA monitor can accumulate excess gases in the measurement system. This can happen,
for example, because of an air leak in the oil lines. The DGA monitor detects excess gases and
enables device alert code 2112, Excess gas in the system.
To restore normal operation, perform the procedure below to bleed the excess gas, and restart
measurement after successfully bleeding the system. You must be on site with access to the
DGA monitor cabinet, as you have to remove and reattach the bleed plug as instructed.
Do not use this procedure for bleeding oil lines. This procedure only
works for excess gas inside the DGA monitor. Using this procedure for oil lines
may push the air into the transformer and damage it. If the oil lines need
bleeding, use forced uninstallation and then perform installation as instructed in
OPT100 Installation Guide (M211857EN).
CAUTION!
1. Connect to the DGA monitor user interface and log in as an Admin user.
2. Select Service to open the Service tools page, and locate the Bleeding tool.
