12. HART user interface
12.1. About the interface
HART® is a registered trademark of the HART Commu-
nication Foundation. HART communication is a method
for transmitting digital information between field devices
and host devices (e.g. HART communicator). The Val-
met TS uses the Valmet Mircowave Consistency
Transmitter (Valmet MCA) device description.
To use the HART communication, a HART commu-
nicator containing the Valmet MCA command base is
needed. The %Cs reading of Valmet MCA corresponds
to the %TS values of Valmet TS.
Connect the HART communicator parallel with the
current output line, for example to the HART connector
pins on the TCU front panel.
All the same operations can be performed using the
HART user interface of the Valmet TS and with the
TCU. Operating diagram of the HART communicator
is shown in Fig. 1.
When the HART communicator is connected to
Valmet TS, the following display will appear:
