10. Separate 24 V connectors for auxiliary supply voltage from
master unit
6.3. Setting addresses of slave units
The communication between the master unit and the slave
units will not work until the slave units have been given
addresses. By means of the addresses, the master unit, for
instance, identifies the sensor, which caused tripping.
The slave addresses are numbers within the range 1 - 24. The
addresses can be freely set, e.g. so that they comply with the
numbers of the switchgear cubicles.
NOTE!
The slave addresses must be unique among the slaves
connected to the same master unit, i.e., two slaves cannot have
the same address.
Set the addresses with the DIP switches situated on the front
panels of the slave units. The address is formed by the sum of
the weight factors of the switches set in ON position. The
weight factors of the switches are listed in the table below. See
the examples in Figure 6.3-2.
Switch no. Weight factor

2 2

4 8

If the address of a slave unit is changed after the system
configuration has been defined (see section ), the slave unit
must be reset for the new address to take effect. The slave unit
is reset by switching off the power supply, either by switching
off the auxiliary voltage of the system or by disconnecting the
modular cable (and a possible separate supply cable).
